A most unwelcoming hotel. Perfectly clean and functional, but boy was it off putting and suspicious. We have travel all over the world the last two years and NEVER have we been asked to leave a €150 deposit when we had paid up front!! Check in at 4pm. Closed from 12.30-4.00. Check out by 10.30am or charged for another day. Oh and free car park isn’t free. Buffet breakfast must be ordered by 8am - it’s a buffet! First rule of hotels is to make guests feel welcome. If this is Gallic charm it’s not working.

This is a 2 star motel. It is NOT a hotel. Staff were incredibly lazy and very unhelpful. They don’t care about their guests. Hotel area and reception desk closed from 12 until 2pm everyday so you had to move out of the indoor area as they locked up the hotel. We arrived at 11am as we had an early flight with our 3 kids and were told we couldn’t check in until 4pm. When our room was eventually ready, the staff would not even bring our bags to the room for us. We had 6 bags!!! I asked could they help and they said “we do not have enough staff”!!! The room was so basic. The cupboards were all locked and there was no key. We have a 2 year old baby and they charged us €2 twice for some milk for her small milk bottle. The room cost €280 per night. Breakfast was NOT included which is a joke. We had to play an extra €50 for breakfast. We are a family of 5. At breakfast when we asked for more food, they laughed at us as if we were eating too much and it was a hassle for them. At 10:30am while we were still eating our breakfast at the breakfast table, they told us we had to check out immediately as check out was at 10:30am. An absolute rip off! Check in at 4pm and check out at 10:30am! €330 for 20.5 hours. I asked a waiter if he could help order us a taxi and he said “No”. I told him the service in the hotel was very bad and he got aggressive and again refused to help order us a taxi to our next destination where we would be staying for 3 weeks. He would not help. Eventually the manager arranged a taxi. The pool area is nice but I would stay somewhere else. This is our 5th time visiting ile de re. We come for 3 weeks every summer. A new owner with attentive staff could make this place a much better place. I would NOT recommend hotel de re to anyone.

Good size accommodation spoiled by a poor bed quality which gave little sleep. Avoid room 19 . Everything else was fine staff cleanliness all very good parking excellent. Also felt the deposit for the room was unnecessary (150euros) as they already had my full address and card details. Yea/ coffee cups in the room too small. Take your own plates cutlery if staying longer than one night.

Good location. Large , clean and spacious rooms with comfy beds. Nice size outdoor swimming pool.My daughter was there for at least 2 hours daily. Will definitely recommend this hotel. |The staff was very helpful. Breakfast buffet had plenty to offer.

Stayed here for 3 nights. Rooms are basic and unfortunately during our stay not very comfortable due to the high temperatures and lack of A/C. Staff not overly friendly and generally lacked atmosphere. We tried some of the food dishes on offer one night and would not recommend them. Poor qulity and overpriced. Of the 3 hotels we stayed in during our visit to France, this was the most expensive and the lowest quality.

This hotel is well located on Ré Island, nice, comfortable and quiet. The breakfast is very good and with lot of choices. it's nice to take it near the beautiful swimming-pool. The ground floor rooms are easy for young kids.

Really lovely hotel in Sainte-Marie-de-Re. Service and staff were really great, and bikes for hire were in good condition. Only downside was no aircon in the rooms - can get hot during the summer! Overall fab

We really enjoyed our stay at the hotel and have already started planning our trip next year. The pictures on Tripadvisor don’t do it justice. It’s no frills but very chic at the same time.
